Can't install Windows 8 and don't know why
HI, I can't force setup to install Windows 8 on my prepared partition.
It's 2nd primary nonactive partition on internal HD formatted as NTFS with default cluster, 26GB big.
Everything looks meeting system requirements tho setup refuses to continue.
I get up to the setup type dialog, choose CUSTOM (as I don't want to upgrade from Seven but rather to install as secondary OS), on custom partition...

For everyone that is curious, I have successfully got the leaked RTM build of Windows 8 on a To Go drive. Normally, this wouldn't be significant, but I used the leaked Pro build and not the Enterprise build, which has been decreed as the version that will do that. Best advice for dual ssd boot of Win 7 Pro and Win 8 RP
I have am OCZ Agility 3 120Gb with Win 7 Pro x64 that needs re-installed and a Corsair Force 3 60Gb that I want to install Win 8 Rp on. I am looking for the best advice on how to install this. W8 install error 0x0000221
Error code 0x0000221 on new installation. I have used this DVD successfully in the past, on this computer and others. Even downloaded a new .iso, burned new DVDs.Now all I get is "Your PC needs to be repaired"

Cannot upgrade to Win8 Pro Retail from Win8 RP.
I just downloaded the Technet version of Win8 Pro. When trying to *UPGRADE* the RP version, I keep getting a message to "remove install media, boot windows normally, and then add the install media afterwards". Solved Windows 8 RTM install problems
So, I downloaded the Windows 8 RTM release from MSDN today. I'm currently trying to install the 64bit Enterprise product on a slightly older computer of mine and thus far it's been a total disaster.

Upgrad RC to to Pro en Enterprise RTM
Just found a way to upgrade my Windows 8 RC to RTM without losing files and apps:
* Extract the Windows 8 ISO or copy all files of the Windows 8 DVD to your HDD.
* Browse to the 'Sources' folder and open the file cversion.ini.
* Then find the entries as in the attachment below
* Change the value MinClient value to a value lower than one of the RC, so e.g. 8200 and save the file.

W8 RTM Enterprise (Real version) X Install via USB3 and SSD -- 5 Mins

Ms have definitely done their homework.
Created bootable USB3 drive and copied ISO to it.
Then installed to ultrabook type laptop to 250 GB SSD from USB3.
5 Mins - up and running (excluding time to copy ISO to USB3 drive to start with which didn't take long either)
OK Have to install apps etc -- but bootable running system after 5 - 6 mins. !!!

Solved Solution to 0xc000428 when dual booting Win7 and Win8

W7 Ult upgrade to W8 Pro RTM Install problem.
I'm doing an upgrade from W7 to W8. I click through, everything is fine (only had to uninstall Kaspersky and a quick reboot), and the system counts up to 100% done, then reboots. After reboot, I get the little blue spinning circle, then the monitor shuts off. Anyone else seen this?

Solved Windows 8 / Windows 7 Dual Boot
Just a heads-up to anyone fooling around with the new Windows 8 and may want to dual boot with an existing Windows 7 and don't want the related boot issues when it may be time to remove the W_8, it'll be just as simple as a right-click delete to totally remove it in Windows disk management.
