Registering OCX files with Windows 8 to run dated but necessary dbase

Work has just had its first Windows 8 machine delivered and I am to test. My first job is to test whether our effective but ancient MS Access with VBA frontend database works with it. At first glance it doesn't, none of the OCX (32bit) files will register through syswow64 using the commands.
