So my parents buy used laptops every year and give them away to children who can't afford them back home and need them for school (yeah they are pretty awesome people =]). So I generally do reformatting and tweaking and adding in programs or things they might need so if they aren't computer savvy they won't have to waste too much time.
I just got a Toshiba Tecra A11 with Windows 7...
