re-installation

I've just started using Windows 8 which was already pre-installed on my Compaq CQ58 laptop. I assume that all the files to do with Win 8 are on the hard drive (D:\ Recovery) but I want to transfer all the installation and utilities (sound, graphics etc.) files onto a DVD and run a clean install if or when I ever have to format the hard drive. Two questions really ... What files do I copy...
